that is beacuse each country has different voltage. if the voltage is too shot it will not work if its too much it may cause fire.

There are various standards , and that is why TV purchased in U.S does not work in your country. Screen picture will look like it is coded.( encrypted) .In Europe and many other countries 5.5 MHz seperation . for the Video Tx freq and Sound Freq . In U.S it is 4.5 MHz apart . ( the bandwidth etc ). Again from Yahoo Answers Quote NTSC is analog tuner, ATSC is digital tuner. In order to receive digital stations, your set must have an integrated ATSC tuner in addition to the NTSC. If your set is HD-ready it means you'll need an external ATSC tuner box or a High definition receiver form either cable or satellite provider. unquote. I don't think you connected the TV to an 230V outlet directly!Your TV seems to ready for both NTSC and ATSC Just to add to the confusion . There is another standard PAL ! May20th: Isaiis: Thanks for the info that the system is PAL. Countries may adopt different systems but the TV manufacturer normally give a menu to select the system NTSC/PAL etc. Also in Sweden you wont watch U.S programs direct but through a Satellite link. There is hope the TV can work in Sweden. via satellite known as Direct to Home ( DTH service ) checking up/waiting for more details.

From my experience, Metro PCS phones barely work most places in the US so I think Sweden won't work at all..

hi , I am a student of stockholm university , my home country is India. I am holding a student visa for 2 years and as per law here I can work part-time / fulltime. I got a job but my employeers are asking me to provide appropriate documents to show that I have work permit . what document I can show to them?

I would show them the documents you have; student visa, passport with stamp in it etc. Or just ask them exactly what they need and if you don't have a paper like that tell them that, but your student visa should be sufficient for them.
