im british and i want to work and live in sweden, help me

im british and i want to work and live in sweden, help me!!?
I'm 23 and I have a daughter in sweden, I'm not together with her mum anymore! She is only 2 months old and I don't want to miss any more of her life. I'm in the army at the moment and don't have much other experience another than military. How easy would it be to get a place and a job in sweden(stockholm)??? Ps I don't speak a word of swedish!!

I don't know anything at all about Swedish immigration laws, but if I wanted to find out, I'd go to the official government website for Sweden and find a link to "immigration".

If you're a UK citizen, you don't need a work permit, but you do need to get a residence certificate within 3 months of arriving in Sweden, from the Migration Board: http://www.migrationsverket.se/info/start_en.html Getting a job is harder, but if you don't mind menial tasks, you have more options. Here's a link to the Swedish job centre site with information in English about working in Sweden: http://www.arbetsformedlingen.se/Globalmeny/Other-languages/Do-you-want-to-work-in-Sweden.html You can get away with speaking English only for quite some time, but you will have to learn Swedish eventually. Getting accommodation in Stockholm is probably the hardest part. I don't live there and have very little experience. Finding someone to share a flat with is probably as good a start as any. Why not try the British Expats site? In their Discussion forum you might find a few Brits already living there who can share their experience. http://britishexpats.com/ It's great that you want to be part of your daughter's life while she's growing up and I hope you are able to get some support from her mum even if you're no longer an item. I wish you the best of luck.
