You can only work in Sweden with a Swedish student visa, unless you file for a separate work permit in any other country in which you would like to work. And such a foreign work permit would not be approved unless you have a job offer already in place. For instance, if you want to work in Norway over the summer you would have to find a company that would be willing to sponsor your application for a work permit (and that isn't very likely unless there is extreme demand for that particular skill, or you are uniquely and expertly qualified). Even within Sweden you have to file for a Tax ID number with Skatteverket in addition to your Swedish student visa. Your student visa give you the right to work in Sweden, but only in Sweden. And Skatteverket will only give you a Tax ID number if you already have a job offer. Usually it takes about a month to have your Tax ID number issued by Skatteverket (and you cannot begin working until you have it). Also, Sweden is unique in that with a standard student visa you can potentially work up to a full-time job without having to file for a separate work visa (although you do have to file with Skatteverket for a Tax ID number). In Denmark and Norway, however, with a student visa (from each respective country) you can only work up to 15 hours a week. If you want to work more than that you have to file for a special work permit, and it will only be approved if you already have a job offer.
