Sweden, Norway, Greece, and Portugal have similarly "socialist" government programs. So why are Sweden and Norway doing well while Greece and Portugal are crashing? Sweden and Norway don't need to borrow money, they have a trade SURPLUS. That's money coming into the country, they are creditor nations because they have money to lend. Greece and Portugal are debtor nations because of their trade DEFICIT. They have money going out of the country, that's why they have to borrow so much. That's why the USA has to borrow so much. We are a debtor nation because of our trade deficit. Check "Current Account" to see what nations are creditor nations (positive) and which are debtor nations (negative). There's almost 100% correlation between trade deficit and being a debtor nation.

The reason it works best in Sweden and Norway is because they don't allow any uneducated, unskilled, and unemployed moochers from other countries in their countries. The problem with socialism is you can't tax the workers so high that they won't work anymore just to give it to the bums that don't like to work. Soon nobody wants to get an education or work. Why bother?

Sweden and norway were smart enough to keep theyre Sociol democracy and stand clear and keep options open from the EURO. you can link all you want. I have been to sweden and norway and thier economy and social programs are the best in the world. Greece however took out massive loans, and followed the lead of many Neocons to try and postpone a due date. It is not "working" in Norway and Sweden either... Though their plight is not as bad as in Greece, they to sacrificed major benefits of Capitalism for the sake of EQUALITY... Equality of RESULTS, I might add, not equality of OPPORTUNITY, which Capitalism provides. In other words, those countries, which have not seen wars in centuries, should be doing much better than they do...
