How do taxes work in Sweden

How do taxes work in Sweden?
I am about a year away from being out of school to be an Instrumentation Technician and my fiance and I are seriously considering me working in Sweden. Her dad came over from there when he was younger and has taken her to visit. She says it's gorgeous and we thing it would be an amazing place to start a family. I'm just not sure how the taxes would work for us.

Just Google "taxes in Sweden" and you'll find tons of information. Just so you know, it's SUMMER that's beautiful. I didn't find winter to have much to write home about, unless cold and dark is your cup of tea..

Sweden has a socialist, cradle to grave system. Yes,it's beautiful. Who'd wish to work in a big brother type system. Orwellian nightmare.

No, Ned, it's not an Orwellian nightmare.

Au contraire to what Ned said, it is not an orwellian nightmare. I guess he doesn't really know what sweden is about. The taxes are high in comparison to many other countries, but one get's pretty much in return. For example; the health and school system are both for free, so you won't get ruined if you get ill and you don't have to worry about how you're gonna afford sending your kids to college. Most other things, for example day care and eldercare is also really really cheap. And the taxes are calculated as a percentage so you pay a certain percentage of your income. Sweden is a beautiful country, no doubt about that one. But the thing I like the most about the country is that everybody is very open-minded, tolerant and helpful. I really like it here :)
