My husband is Swedish. He attended maritime academy in Sweden and got all his licenses to work on ships in Sweden. He worked there on board as a chief officer since 1989. We got married and he moved to the United States 4 years ago. We need to know what has to be done to get an American license. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

My suggestion would be to go to the website: Maritime Jobs (based in the USA): http://www.maritimejobs.com/ At the bottom of that webpage, you'll find the following words: Any questions? Email jobs@marinelink.com This might be a good place to start because if they don't have an answer to your question, they should, at least, be able to put your husband in touch with someone who has an answer to your query.
